FIFA announces US, Canada and Mexico as 2026 World Cup venues

- FIFA has announced the 16 North American cities that will host the World Cup in 2026.
- Eleven cities in the U.S., along with three cities in Mexico and two in Canada, will host the 48-team tournament, an expansion from the previous 32-team count.
- It will be the first time three nations have been appointed to host the World Cup.
- The 2022 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022.
