Sudarsan Pattnaik Wins Russia Grand Sand Master Cup 2026
  • Indian sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik won the Russia Grand Sand Master Cup 2026 at the II International Festival of Sand Sculpture in Kaliningrad Region on 12-13 June. He became the first Indian to receive the prestigious award. His winning three-metre-tall sculpture highlighted climate change and global warming, depicting two faces of the Earth—one showing environmental degradation and the other afforestation and sustainable living.
  • The festival featured 12 international sand sculptors. Pattnaik, a Padma Shri recipient, was unanimously selected by an international jury for his work on social and environmental themes.
