Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Cormac McCarthy passes away

- Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Cormac McCarthy has died at the age of 89.
- McCarthy’s first novel ‘The Orchard Keeper’ was published in 1965, his first commercially successful work was ‘All The Pretty Horses’.
- It got the National Book Award in 1992 and a movie based on the novel was released in 2000.
- McCarthy got the Pulitzer Prize for his novel ‘The Road’ in 2006.
- His novel “No Country for Old Men” was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film in 2007.
- McCarthy’s other crime thriller ‘The Counsellor’ was a successful film in which stars like Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz acted.
- He went on to publish more than 20 novels, including “Blood Meridian,” “All the Pretty Horses,” and “Suttree.”
