India Wins SAFF Women’s Championship 2026
  • The Indian women’s football team clinched their record sixth SAFF Women’s Championship title by defeating defending champions Bangladesh 3-1 in the final at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Margao, Goa. This victory ended a seven-year wait and marked a dominant campaign with 4 wins, 18 goals scored, and just 1 conceded.
  • Goals came from Pyari Xaxa (42'), Sanfida Nongrum (46'), and Lynda Kom Serto (82'), with Bangladesh’s Ritu Porna Chakma scoring in the 45+1 minute. Individual awards: Sanfida Nongrum (MVP), Panthoi Chanu Elangbam (Best Goalkeeper), and Aveka Singh (Top Scorer).
